Mark's iPhone Makeover: The status bar
Updated: February 9, 2014There's one last item I'm going to cover in my iPhone makeover: the status bar. While there're many things that appear in the status bar, I'm only going to cover the major items: the cellular signal strength bars, the carrier name, the Wi-Fi- signal strength bars, and the battery.
There are so many different themes out there for these few items it's not even funny. In fact in the time it takes you to read this article 10 more themes for tweaking these items will have been posted on Cydia. I'm just going to show screen shots of the status bar to display some themes I've run across. First a refresher on what the stock status bar looks like with and without the battery percentage.

June'siPhone has a paid theme called 69 which provides the cellular and Wi-Fi bars. Also pictured is SpeedBattery for Alkaline.
The Ayecon theme uses the old style iOS 6 bars. This is paid theme. You may be able to find these icons elsewhere. You could always get these images from an iOS 6 firmware file.
Alkaline comes with three themes built in: Bolus, Habesha, and Spots.
Basik7 New Edition changes cellular, Wi-Fi and the charging bolt.

Here's a theme that matches the Habesha battery bars found in Alkaline. You'll have to download this theme from here.
No Percent Sign does just what it says. I also used Springtomize to hide the battery icon. There are other programs that will do this as well like Cloaky.
Numeric GSM Enabler and Numeric Wifi Enabler replaces the cellular signal strength dots and the Wi-Fi curved lines with numbers to provide more accurate representations of your signal strength.
Rebars comes with a curved set of bars, and a straight set that's similar to the Habesha battery.
Solstice is a free theme. This theme would mix well with Dots for Alkaline.
Springtomize can be used to hide the battery image. This is a paid app.
surr3a1.iOS7statusbar, discussed here, provides three separate themes. You'll need to add this repo manually, and SSH into your device to change the themes as they are all in the same folder and will require renaming.
WiFiDots is the perfect compliment to the stock cellular signal dots.
One last thing...
Custom carrier logos have been a very popular item, and you'll find lots of threads requesting logos of almost everything imaginable. While you can manually apply these, a program called Zeppelin makes this push button simple. The program comes with 22 built in logos, or the option to enter a custom text message. When you search for Zeppelin you'll see there are dozens of add on theme packages for it on Cydia. The sky's the limit for this tweak.
